Angela
Angela: a musical name, a wonderful friend. How lucky I am to know you. (That could be a song!) I keep looking for your wings, but you are a down-to-earth angel. Grounded and practical, you know just when I need a ride, an extra bed, a new dress shop, or some Blue Bell ice cream. You also lift me to new heights. In our book group you offer sharp insights and make thoughtful connections. Through you we have enjoyed the friendship of Jack and Peg and discovered the wonders of Chautauqua. Readers of this blog will know that Chautauqua has been one of my most-treasured experiences for the last seven summers.
It was you and Henry who first invited us to Quail Ridge. I knew Angela in the Service League of Northern Virginia; Steve and Henry played together at Washington Golf. Within a month, we bought a place here and have since become even better friends. Henry and Angela hosted a cocktail party to introduce us to their friends here and treated us to our first full-moon party on the beach. They are ever ready to celebrate family milestones, commiserate over challenges, or just try a new restaurant. Here’s a review of some of the good times we have shared.

Expressing ourselves as citizens:
At Quail Ridge there’s a shrub named “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.” Angela, thank you for being such a great friend yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I’ll keep singing this song: Angela: a musical name, a wonderful friend. How lucky I am to know you!
