Two at one piano
Four-hand piano music has always been a joy to me. My first duet partner was my mother; we spent many a Friday evening playing through her collection. In high school I teamed with Marjo and Robert in our teacher’s annual piano ensemble extravaganza. Many years later my daughter Lilli became my partner. Here we are in March 2004.
Another friend and I started playing together in 1998. We rolled up the rug in my dining room so that the children of our book group members could dance to Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker suite. Recently I have been playing duets with Rene, friend and colleague. We have now recorded three CDs of 4-hand works by Dvorak, Amy Beach, Bizet, Faure and others. Our new CD on the Duet Together label is “Merry Christmas Plus.”
