Daily Playlist

It clears the mind and refreshes the soul to play Bach’s music on the piano each morning after breakfast. Current playlist: Chorale in E minor, Prelude in E major from the Well-tempered Clavier, a short Preludes in E and F, Invention No. 8, and Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. All of these are by memory and remind me of my 2001 travels In the Footsteps of J S Bach. Then I fast forward to the 20th century with Gershwin’s own concert arrangement of “I Got Rhythm” and tangos by Albeniz, Nazareth and Piazzola, still in the process of getting memorized.
