Martha, Forgot to mention another difference gardening here; stray golf balls.
Also, were you acquainted with Dr. Bill Orsinger who lived near Williansburg Middle School? He had a fabulous vegetable garden, the contents of which he shared and used for he and his wife Vi’s Italian cooking. I mention him because he volunteered at the National Arboreteum caring for bonsai plants.
